Update May 2019: Turns out the unit referenced below was WAY too small for the size of the house. We had Alford fix it and they were absolutely amazing to work with. Every single person we came in contact with was very nice. The fix was a huge undertaking for Alford but they always came in on time and were very professional at every single turn. I will recommend these guys time and time again. Please note the pictures were in progress pictures and they cleaned everything up, as seen in the last picture of the gorgeous new unit 🙂 Original September 2018: We had Alford come to look at a bad HVAC unit before purchasing a house. I would like to start of by saying I'm a first time customer and now a lifetime customer. I had a lighting strike only feet from the house , destroyed 3 trees from it , after the rain stopped and I started to check why half the house is not working , found meter head exploded and 3/4s of the breakers in the house tripped . One by one turning them back on to only realize ac system not working and others , but called duke and Alford mechanical , they were nice on the phone and scheduled someone that day within 2hrs of my call on a Friday. Technician Oscar called be 30 mins before arriving . he was on time, nice and went to it , wasting no time found and fixed the issue with in a very short time . I was imagining the worst as we all know those ppl are out there . NO NO NO not Oscar and there rates are amazing , so I would like to say thank you to Alford mechanical and especially to Oscar job well done , you now have a customer for life . Called Alford on Tuesday July 1 with an AC issue around 2:00 pm. We were told someone would be at our location between 2 and 4 PM that day. I received a phone call from the Tech (Oscar) about 2:45 letting us know he would see us that afternoon. Oscar showed up at 4:00 pm and had us back up and running in less than an hour. He was GREAT! AC went out last night/Saturday because the thermostat became deprogrammed, likely due to yesterday's thunder storm. The unit was actually heating the house and baking all in the house all night until, in the morning, I figured out how to turn the entire system off at the breaker. Chris Collins, Residential Service Technician, came out on a Sunday. Weekends are time and a half, which seems fair. Chris is super kind, easy-going, knowledgeable, and professional. He gave me great maintenance tips, and made viable suggestions for saving money down the road. Chris fixed the thermostat programming for only $154, which is less than expected. It's cool again! Chris suggested I get on a heating and air maintenance program, which is a good idea. I will definitely use Alford Mechanical again and I will request Chris! Read Less

Punctuality -Always on time and ready. Attention to detail -I watched everything and was very happy with the high detail of their work. Problem solving -We had a few difficult problems during the installation which were solved fast and logically. Cleanliness -Covered anything in dirts way. Always cleaned up at end of day. Knowledge and able to explain to customer -They did not mind my curiosity and explained anything I asked. The completed HVAC in my attic and back yard was a thing of beauty. It was placed well as to leave the area looking open. Vent hoses were all draped high out of the way against roof. I am really happy with the job they did.
